House Manager

Job Description

Title: House Manager

Job Responsibilities: This position is to provide to the children in the residence of the home a safe and structured environment with adherence to program policy and procedure. Counsel and intervene with residents when necessary and maintain a professional therapeutic relationship

Accountability: House Manager is directly supervised by the Program Coordinator, Program Director, Executive Director, and is responsible to the Board of Trustees of Clear Creek Farm.

Qualifications: Persons employed in positions responsible for the daily, direct care, or supervision of children shall be at least twenty-one years of age and possess a high school diploma. Associates degree in social work, psychology, social services or a related field and working toward a bachelor’s degree is preferred. These persons must also have good moral character and display a general interest in working with children.

Illustrative Duties:

  • Employees will report on time as scheduled for assigned shifts and work the entire shift unless granted prior approval from Like Our Own Administration.
  • Supervise and care for the children. Intervene when necessary according to approved and appropriate intervention techniques according to policy and procedures.
  • Purchase and prepare food for meeting nutritional needs of the children.
  • Provide routine first aid and medical care along with referral to appropriate sources of professional treatment.
  • Attend school functions involving the children and provide completion of homework opportunities.
  • Provide the opportunity for spiritual guidance and church attendance.
  • Counsel residents and create a positive therapeutic environment with trauma informed approach, to allow residents to succeed.
  • Conduct usual and routine housekeeping of home and equipment along with residents.
  • House Managers are responsible for the care of trees, shrubbery, flowers, weeding, snow removal, salt spreading, and all other outside related activities/duties necessary to provide safety of our residents and guests.
  • Provide transportation for the residents to all scheduled appointments, activities, etc. while on your shift.
  • Oversee and assist with independent living skills (cooking, laundry, cleaning, school projects, career building, money management, personal care, and etc) for the residents.
  • Select appropriate clothing and related articles for the residents. See to it that the residents are dressed appropriately when leaving campus.
  • Post and submit reports as requested by the Program Coordinator, Program Director, Executive Director, and Clear Creek Farm Board of Trustees.
  • Provide the usual and acceptable disciplinary actions as house managers for the residents.
  • Follow the daily schedule of the program as provided by the Program Coordinator, Program Director, or Executive Director.
  • Plan and discuss recreational, family, and clinical activities with co-workers before the start of your shift.
  • Report/log in detail any and all information pertaining to your shift in the program shift log.
  • Report any and all serious resident illnesses, accidents, and damages to anything pertaining to Clear Creek Farm immediately to the Program Coordinator, Program Director and Executive Director.
  • Responsible for being familiar with corporate policy.
  • Maintain absolute confidentiality concerning work with Clear Creek Farm. House managers will not discuss with anyone, except authorized persons, anything observed, read, heard or typed relating to the personal life and background of children within the program, nor any information concerning corporate business.
  • Responsible in general for performing usual and normal work associated with house manager duties as well as other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator, Executive Director, and the CCF Board of Trustees.
  • When assigned, serve as a member of the Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) Committee.

Social Worker Job Responsibilities:

  • Determines nature of client’s situation by interviewing client, assessing medical, psychological, emotional and social information and making on-site visits.
